John's Guitar Lessons is now The Fayette Conservatory of Music!
(And Guitar Lessons and Beginner/Intermediate Piano and also Bass Guitar Too...)
Thank you for your interest in the Fayette Conservatory of Music! My name is John, and I first picked up the guitar at the age of 12, after playing the trumpet for several years in grade school. My Mom was a Concert Pianist with a Master's Degree in Classical Performance, and taught lessons at home, so music was always around. I have been playing music for my entire life, and teaching lessons since I was 18 (32 years). After graduating from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, I had the choice of either pursuing a corporate path, or seeing if I could turn a buck doing what I loved.
Since that time (and after being voted best guitarist in Atlanta by 96Rock in 2003), I have enjoyed 20 rewarding years of working in the music industry as a performer, sound engineer, composer, stage-hand, light guy, you name it. Over the years, I have taught hundreds of people how to play guitar, bass, and piano, have had students go on to AIMM, and even one young lady complete a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Guitar from Kennesaw State. I always do my first lesson for free, and I am an excellent, creative, and patient teacher. I truly enjoy sharing the gift of music with others, and have taught all ages, in all styles, at every skill level. I know how to make music enjoyable, beneficial, and, most importantly, just plain fun!
I am also a graduate of The McNally Smith College of Music, with an Associate Degree in Guitar Performance.
My spacious, fully-equipped lesson studio is located on W. Lanier Avenue in downtown Fayetteville.
I currently perform at the Eagle's Landing Country Club, as well as the Invited Clubs Network (Braelinn, White Oak, etc.)
